Ductless systems need maintenance just as much as any other system. Twice as often, in fact, but we’ll get to that in a second. If you haven’t scheduled maintenance for your ductless system yet, you should do so now. Otherwise, you may find yourself dealing with a whole slew of problems that could have been avoided. Let’s take a look at why it’s so beneficial to schedule ductless maintenance.
Prevention vs. Cure
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, as the saying goes. Preventing a problem from occurring in the first place is always better than waiting for it to develop before dealing with it. By waiting for a problem to present itself before calling for repairs, you are giving that problem time to deal more damage to the system. It’s far better to schedule annual maintenance, which gives your technician time to locate and fix problems before they have the chance to cause too much damage.
When to Schedule Preventive Maintenance
Ductless systems are a bit different from traditional heating systems, in that they are used twice as often. The normal time to schedule preventive maintenance for a system is the season before it sees the most usage. For most heating systems, that’s during the fall. Since ductless systems are used as both heating and air conditioning systems, though, they need maintenance during both spring and fall. That should ensure that your ductless system is up to the task of providing heating and air conditioning on a regular basis during the winter and summer. Remember that it’s far better to schedule maintenance later than not at all, though. If it’s been a while since your last maintenance visit, schedule another one right away.
