Did you turn on the heater and it smells like something is burning? If it’s the first time you’re turning on the furnace, then that is okay. It’s simply old dirt and dust being burnt off. Any other strange smells should be cause for concern. For instance, if it smells musty or stale, then that could mean there is moisture buildup somewhere.
